Practical information

Our workshop will convene on Sunday February 25, 2018.  The European Conference on Fungal Genetics (ECFG14) opens in the evening of the same day. For detailed information on travel to Israel, the city of Haifa, Technion and more, please see http://www.ecfg14.org/

Sunday February 25 sessions will be held at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Technion (Main Campus, Neve Shaanan), auditorium 300, just to the right from the main upper entrance to the building.

If you are arriving by public transportation: all buses into Technion campus stop at the “Chemistry” bus stop (press the stop request button), 5 min walk from Auditorium 300. If you arrive by taxi, ask the driver to take the first left after the Chemistry bus stop, to the Biotechnology and Food Engineering main upper entrance.

If you are arriving by car, please provide details (the car license plate number, color and make) by mail to horwitz@technion.ac.il for an entry and parking permit. Parking areas are indicated on the campus map; a large lot is located across the campus ring road from the left turn toward the venue, about 5 min walk to Auditorium 300.

If you are staying at a Haifa hotel participating in ECFG14, a conference bus to the Technion main campus will pick up at your hotel at 8:00-8:15 Sunday morning. The bus will let you off at Biology/Chemistry parking. Consult the campus map: from the Biology main entrance, go down the stairs at the left of the entrance, followed by a second set of stairs; you will get to the main entrance to Biotechnology (also accessible without stairs, follow the road around Biology, back to the roundabout, left, left again.

Return buses to the hotels will leave from the main campus road (David Rose Avenue, Ring Road) near Churchill Auditorium, after the conclusion of the ECFG14 opening ceremony and evening plenary lecture.

Monday February 26 sessions will be at the Faculty of Medicine, Bat Galim campus. If you are participating in ECFG14, take the conference shuttle bus to the Technion Faculty of Medicine on Monday morning.

If you are arriving by public transportation: by train, get off at the Bat Galim train station, walk 5-10 min to venue. The “metronit” rapid bus also follows the coastline. By bus from other parts of the city, consult the Egged website or Moovit cellphone app to find the bus and schedule, get off at Rambam Hospital stop. If you arrive by taxi, be sure to tell the driver to go to the Faculty of Medicine, Technion Bat Galim campus, next to Rambam Hospital.

If you are arriving by car, you may park in the Rambam Hospital underground parking or a little farther away at the Quiet Beach parking lot (5 min walk from the venue); the price at Rambam Hospital parking is currently 36 NIS per day, follow this link and search for “parking”

Monday evening following the end of the BARD workshop evening session, there will be a bus from the Faculty of Medicine campus to the workshop dinner in Isfiya, and return to Haifa hotels after dinner.
